The historic lodge at Camp Mary Orton is the ideal location for a wedding, reception or both. The warmth of wood floors, high-beamed ceiling and 12-foot wide stone fireplace make for an inviting location to celebrate your day. If you are looking for a more casual outdoor venue, the rustic setting and extensive outdoor space – 123 wooded acres! – may be more to your liking.
Our lodge is 5000 ft² of historical charm. The lodge is divided into two large rooms plus an industrial-sized kitchen with ample counter, refrigeration and stove space. The lodge room closest to the kitchen is 2280 ft² and the room with the fireplace is 2065 ft². Both rooms are included in the rental fee.
Camp Mary Orton is a summer day camp for Columbus’ inner-city children through the week. Your dollars spent at CMO stay here at camp to help us provide camp programming to kids.
Common Questions:
Can I bring in my own food/caterer?
Yes. We allow you to bring in your own food. Set up and clean up is done by the renter unless other arrangements are made. Outside caterers are welcome with proof of business license, workers comp and insurance. Signed contract with designated fee must be on file with CMO.
Can I bring in my own tables, chairs, linens, etc?
Yes. Drop off and pick up of rented equipment (extra tables, chairs, linens, etc) must be arranged during your rental hours. There is an additional fee for rented equipment that is not dropped off or picked up during the rental or outside of CMO business hours.
How many people can fit in the lodge?
Banquet seating is approximately 250 depending on table arrangement.
Is alcohol permitted?
Alcohol is permitted without additional permit.
Does CMO have tables and chairs?
CMO has:
- 175 white plastic chairs
- 25 6′ x 30′ folding tables
- 5 8′ x 30′ folding tables
- 40 picnic tables directly outside of the lodge for casual outdoor seating
What facilities are available?
Rental includes lawn areas, basketball, tennis court, sand volleyball court, horseshoes, corn hole and hiking trails.
Use of our swimming pool and Adventure Elements are available for an additional fee.
What is the cost?
Single Day Pricing:
Friday (8am – 11pm) $1,300*
Saturday (8am – 11pm) $1600*
Sunday (8am – 11pm) $1300*
Friday evening (5 pm – 11 pm) rental is $700. A deposit o $300 is required to hold a Friday evening.
Wedding Combo Package $2250*
Friday (5pm – 10pm) for rehearsal and/or decoration plus
Saturday (8am – 11pm) for ceremony and reception
*A $500 deposit is required to reserve
Is the deposit refundable?
The deposit is refundable with 120 days or greater notice less a $50 administrative fee.
With less than 120 days notice, the deposit is forfeit.
Who will help me on my wedding day?
Camp Mary Orton provides a host to assist you on the day of your event.
