DISCOVERY DAY CAMP

~A week long day camp full of fun.~

A traditional outdoor camp for children ages 6 to 12. Different themed activities provide a unique experience each session. Regardless of which session campers attend, their days will be filled with organized games, arts and crafts, swimming, and hiking and exploring our 167 wooded acres.

Back to nature (BTN)
Career Development (CE)

Learn about some of the animals that call Ohio home! Build shelters, play animal-themed games, identify tracks, and see some birds of prey with a visit from the Ohio School of Falconry.

This week’s presenters: Michael Durst w/ Dept. of Natural Resources, and the Ohio School of Falconry.

Cost: $375.00

This week, your camper can dip into their artistic side. In addition to our regular programming, we will also be delving into more in-depth arts and crafts, improv games, songs, and a talent show at the end of the week.

This week’s career development presenter: John Egbert, local professional artist.

Cost: $300.00

PLEASE NOTE: Camp Mary Orton will be closed June 19th, this week will be offered at a pro-rated price.

Come to Camp Mary Orton’s first Career Development experience, where the campers will have the opportunity to plug in and design their own video game with our partner and special guest presenters Tech Corps. After they are done in the computer lab they will have a chance to enjoy many of the other activities we have to offer.

Our biggest week of the past three summers is returning. Get ready to get wet with an over-pouring of water-based activities.

Due to the extremely shortend week there will not be a dedicated career development component to this week.

PLEASE NOTE: Camp Mary Orton will be closed July 4th and 5th, this week will be offered at a pro-rated price.

Join us and our new Partners at National Center for Urban Solutions for Medic! a Career Exploration week focusing on different medical fields. Your camper will learn about the fields of Nursing, Radiology, Lab work, Pharmacy, Physical and Occupational Therapy, and Dentistry interactive activities and instruction.

During our third career development week, campers will bring ideas to life as they learn digital animation with our good friends from Tech Corps. And as always, they will get to finish their time each day with us by participating in activities around our property.

Get your game face on!!! During this week, your campers will get the opportunity to form teams and compete in camp-wide games and activities in an attempt to win the CMO Cup. Whether you are defending Red’s 2023 win or trying to claim the cup, a good time will be had by all.

For our Final Career Exploration week, we welcome not only our partners at National Center for Urban Solutions but also Ohio State Fire Marshall, Kevin Reardon and Members of the Fire Prevention Bureau as we learn more about the fields of medicine and some of our emergency services.
