2024 LIT PROGRAM Policies and INFORMATION
Unlike other CMO youth camp programs, Leaders in Training is not an open enrollment program due to the additional responsibilities expected of our LITs and the time they will spend supervised with younger campers. The steps for LIT registration are as follows:
- Once registration opens, visit our Active Works site and sign up for a LIT tour and interview. The Youth Camps Supervisor will call applicants to schedule interviews in the order registrations are received. Interviews will be scheduled beginning April 22nd 2024.
- Our Youth Camps Supervisor will contact you and schedule a time to tour our facility and interview for the program. Following the tour the camper will meet with the Youth Camps Supervisor for a brief interview.
- You will be contacted by Camp Mary Orton via email with a decision regarding your application to the LIT program. If an offer is made, the email will include a registration link.
- If accepted, you will have 72 hours to decide whether you would like to accept the offer.
- To accept the offer you will need to register your camper using the link provided. A non-refundable deposit of $150 towards the $850 is required to complete registration. The remaining balance of $700 is due by June 10th, 2024.
Please note: An interview does not guarantee acceptance into the LIT program. A minimum of 5 participants must be accepted into the program in order for it to run.
A non-refundable deposit of $150/session is required to reserve a space for your camper. Paid deposits are counted as payments toward the full registration fee. You can make payments towards your registration balance at any time up to four weeks prior to your session start date. Any remaining unpaid balance will be automatically charged to your credit card on file at that time.
If you register your camper within four weeks of the session start date, you will be required to pay the total registration amount.
Being outdoors in small groups, regular hand washing, sanitizing surfaces, and ongoing health monitoring by camp staff are our primary defenses against the spreading of communicable diseases at camp. We ask that families do their part by keeping campers home if they are showing signs of illness within a 24-hour period prior to coming to camp. Campers will be isolated, and parents notified to pick them up if they show signs of illness, such as:
- A temperature of at least 100.4 in combination with at least one other symptom of illness
- Diarrhea
- Severe coughing
- Difficulty breathing
- Evidence of untreated lice
- Sore throat or difficulty swallowing
- Vomiting more than one time or when accompanied by any other symptom of illness
See the parent handbook or downloadable policies for more detailed information.
Camp Mary Orton uses the ePact Network to collect camp forms, including waivers, pickup authorizations, and medical and emergency contact information electronically. Not only does ePact replace paper forms, but it also allows us to communicate with you in the event of an illness, injury, or large-scale emergency.
ePACT is a secure emergency network that we will use to collect medical and emergency contact information electronically. Not only will ePACT replace paper forms, but it will also ensure we have a way to communicate with you in the event of an unexpected situation.
How it works:
- After registering your camper through Active, you’ll receive an email invite to share information with Camp Mary Orton.
- Click ‘Complete Request’ to create a free account or log-in if you already have an existing ePACT account.
- Enter the required information, like medical conditions, and share it with Camp Mary Orton so that program staff has access.
ePACT Support
Have questions or feedback? Please contact help@epactnetwork.com or call 1-855-773-7228 ext. 1 to speak with ePACT’s Customer Success Team.
Deposits are never refunded except when a program is canceled by Camp Mary Orton. Registration fees minus the deposit can be refunded when cancellation occurs at least 28 days prior to the start of your child’s camp session. Participants assume risk and responsibility for changes in personal schedules or health.
To cancel a registration, please contact the Camp Mary Orton office at 614.706.2550. You must speak with Camp Mary Orton administrative staff to cancel. A voicemail message will not be considered proper notification of cancellation for refund purposes. Please note that your $75 deposit is non-refundable if you cancel your registration.
Because of the additional cost of processing a change request, a $15 fee will be assessed for changing your camper’s week once you have registered.
Due to the limited space in the LIT program, all participants will be placed in the same group for the majority of their hands on learning sessions.
All LIT’s will need to leave camp at different times depending on the section they are working in and either signed out by an adult or departing on their own if we have a self-sign-out waiver (located in the parent handbook). Family Night are the exceptions to these times. For any camper not picked up 15 minutes after the end of their day, a $15.00 fee will be charged for every 15 minutes (or portion thereof) that your camper remains at camp. This fee will be applied to your ActiveWorks account and automatically charged to the card on file.
